Confidence Man

Confidence Music for Confident People

Imagine, just for a moment, that you are transported back to the summer of 1993, the sun is beating against you, all the problems in the world are fast evaporating, and you can hear the purest of infectious pop music resonating around you.

That music is Confidence Man, but the only caveat is it’s 2018 after all. Yes indeed, it’s crazy, it’s fun, furthermore it’s funny, and I think the album of the year may just be upon us.

Shades of Primal Scream, Saint Etienne, and Sub Sub all merged together but given a dance revamp making it very fresh and exciting, and above all the production is just fantastic.

Very hard to choose two or three stand out tracks, as the whole thing is majestic, probably easier and informative to list the singles taken from it, Boyfriend, Better Sit Down Boy, and Bubblegum, the latter also a perfect way to describe some of the sheer funk elements to their sound, the rotating mix of male and female vocals is carefully constructed and works a treat.

Can’t for the life of me imagine what it would be like to listen to this album when it’s cold, dark and raining, such is its dependency on sunshine, and if you’re a person that refuses to have a good time, well this is probably not for you.

But if you want to feel good, and you want to party, well, you’re in business. Crank it up, best advice I can give.

9/10
